Lahore police officer narrates details of saving woman’s life from mob

Gulberg Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Syeda Shehrbano Naqvi has said that it was a difficult task to save the woman’s life in a tense situation, as an angry mob chased the woman while she was being taken away.

In an exclusive conversation with Samaa TV, the police officer said saving the woman’s life was her first priority, as any slight negligence or mistake could have caused a huge tragedy.

She was responding to a recent incident in Lahore’s Ichhra Bazaar, where an angry mob of religious zealots was baying for the blood of a woman over suspicions of wearing inappropriate clothes bearing, what they believed, were Arabic inscriptions.
