Karachi Police Office attack’s CCTV footage shows militants in action

KARACHI – The brazen terror attack in Sindh’s capital panicked residents of the port city as four people were martyred and over a dozen suffered injuries after TTP militants stormed the police headquarters on Friday. As officials named a high-level committee to probe, CCTV footage surfaced, showing the attacker barging into the sensitive building.

They later hurled grenades and opened fire, starting a gun battle that continued till midnight. An operation was launched by commandoes and paramilitary forces in which all attackers were gunned down.

Earlier in the day, the identities of two of the terrorists were revealed. One of the three attackers was identified as Kifayatullah, a resident of Wanda Amir, Lakki Marwat; the second was identified as Zala Noor, a resident of North Waziristan.

A day after the attack, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah briefed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif about the untoward incident.
