National Field Day on Food Safety, organized by Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission

National Field Day on High Value Oil Crops and Food Safety was organized by Nuclear Institute for Agriculture and Biology (NAIB), the main agricultural research center of Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission. Chief Scientist Director Deputy Dr. Muhammad Yusuf Saleem delivered the welcome address and under the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Atoms for Peace and Development vision, highlighted the role of Nayab in introducing climate-adapted varieties of various crops using nuclear technologies.

He also spoke about Nayab’s role in promoting oil-bearing crops, which in turn has helped save foreign exchange by reducing the country’s import bill.

Head Plant Breeding and Genetic Engineering Naab Dr. Kashif Riaz Khan briefed about the objective of this activity and said that scientists have done their work and now the time has come to plant the seeds of high yielding varieties in the fields of all over Pakistan. Go so that it is possible to achieve self-sufficiency in the field of agriculture.
